Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct rope access personnel and operations;
- Maintain an inventory of rope access equipment, ensuring that the equipment is fit for purpose and certification is kept up to date;
- Evaluate welding quality using control processes such as: destructive inspection, semi-destructive inspection and non-destructive inspection of welded joints (as well as checking characteristics, properties, dimensions or behaviour of parts or equipment);
- Plan rope access activities, and generate method statements and rescue plans;
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Control System, including the respective procedures and Work Instructions for the Welding area;
- Check that welding processes are as specified, that the person is qualified and that the welding carried out was carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures, among other activities inherent to the role.
Requirements
- 12th grade or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar areas;
- Certifications/Licences:
- IRATA Rope Access Technician Level 3 and advanced training in NDT (Non-Destructive Techniques);
- Have at least level 1 in industrial mountaineering (IRATA);
- Training course in advanced rope access techniques;
- Experience in ropes in the last 6 months (proven in the IRATA logbook);
- Have knowledge of the elements and principles of the International System of Safety at Work (IRATA);
- Sound knowledge of rope techniques and rope access rescue;
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Knowledge of computers from a user's perspective.
